Our home has just had it’s final check from the Trust and we want to give you the thumbs up on a great job well done! Thanks David!

I would like to thank you all so much. Right from the start, with my first contact with Debbie I have found the process to be easy and friendly with great communication on any queries.

The guys were fantastic with their thoughtfulness and the kids loved them. It can be hard to keep the little ones away from the action but these guys took it in their stride and didn’t show any annoyance. I admire their work ethics especially in the conditions they have to work in. I thought it was pretty tough on them to get under the house but I bet they’ve had worse.

Can I just let you know that after the first night we found our walls didn’t have running water from the condensation in the mornings, it’s warm if we have to get up in the middle of the night, the floorboards are warmer, we aren’t using electric blankets and hotties for as long and best of all the mattresses and pillows don’t feel wet anymore. I can already see how this is going to benefit our household with less asthma and colds.

Thanks so much to all of your team, I’m sure we are one of many families whom you’ve helped to make healthier, warmer homes for such a low cost and we just can’t thank you enough!

I would like to commend you on your choice of staff!

As a single mum, it can be uncomfortable having male strangers walk through your hone but these guys helped me relax, they explained what they were doing right from the start, they were friendly polite and informative, and with regards to work quick and efficient. They made today a pleasure with their manner.

The Sustainability Trust was first awarded an EnergyWise home grants contract by the Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority (EECA) in late 2004. 

Since then they have improved the energy efficiency of over 370 homes in Porirua and the Northern suburbs, leading to warmer, drier homes and reduced power bills for residents. This great work is set to continue with the Sustainability Trust targeting another 500 houses in the same area over the coming two financial years.

The Sustainability Trust was new to retro-fitting in 2004/05 and has gone from strength to strength, delivering more houses than expected on their contracts to date. We look forward to continuing to work with the Sustainability Trust to achieve our mutual objectives, in the future.

PCC and the Sustainability Trust have been working together very successfully for some years. Since the establishment of the Environment Centre at Trash Palace in 2003, the Sustainability Trust has run a number of relevant and well-received workshops for the public. Earlier this year, the Trust wrote a Waste Education Strategy for Porirua East, which is in the process of being put into practice by PCC, together with the Sustainability Trust.

Current partnership projects include the "Mind Your Waste" project, the Energy Savers Porirua and the Waste Wise Education programme (for primary schools) - all of which are of great value to Porirua City's community. The city and indeed the wider region appreciate the valuable work of the Sustainability Trust in making a positive difference to our environment.
