Community Waste Projects Co-ordinator
Are you an experienced community educator and passionate about waste minimization? Are you interested in making a real difference in the Porirua community?

- Role involves practical delivery of waste minimisation and sustainability actions in the Porirua community
- This is an independent role carrying out cross-cultural liaison on behalf of the Sustainability Trust, a dynamic community-based organization
- You will be part of a joint project with the Sustainability Trust and Porirua City Council
- Fixed term contract beginning immediately, running until 30 June 2009
- Part-time position with flexible hours, approx 500 hours (an average of 10 hours/week, depending on project requirements)
- Involves working from home (own home office facilities required) and attending meetings in Porirua
- Range of tasks will include waste audits, composting workshops, event waste management, funding applications
- ideal attributes include adult education experience and being comfortable with public speaking or group facilitation

Key skills include:

- Experienced in cross cultural communication
- Ability to work independently
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills
- Understanding of waste minimisation issues
- Passionate and experienced in at least one waste minimisation issue; eg; composting
