Insulation Retrofits

Warm Homes / Healthy Homes / Rental Properties

Our Insulation retrofitting program is transforming the lives of Wellington residents. Last year we insulated more than 500 homes and we are currently on target to equal that number again in 2008.

Providing a winning combination of energy efficiency and family health benefits for participants, these insulation projects are enabling the Wellington community to make real progress towards sustainability.

Ecokiwi

Ecokiwi is a household sustainability project funded by the Ministry for the Environment. Currently in it's pilot phase, the project is running in the Wellington and Dunedin regions until June 2008. Six community networkers are employed in each region to work within their own communities to enable householders to make small voluntary changes in their lives to reduce their impact on the environment in the areas of waste, water, energy, transport and buildings.
